HTTP crash on 64-bit Domino platforms under heavy LotusScript load
Flash (Alert)
Abstract
In certain cirumstances, LotusScript may crash in the HTTP task on AIX 64-bit and Windows 64-bit versions of Lotus Domino.
Content
Lotus Domino crashes in HTTP with a fragment similar to the following in the crash stack:
nnotes.LSsModule::UnSnapRefBy)
nnotes.LSsModule::PreDestruct
nnotes.LSsModule::Destruct
nnotes.LSsInstance::DeleteModule
nnotes.LSsInstance::ModuleUnload
nnotes.LSIModule::~LSIModule
nnotes.LSIModule::`scalar deleting destructor'
The crash may also be preceded by messages similar to the following in the console log:
[0378:000B-0C28] 2009-11-10 20:07:15 HTTP Server: Agent 'Agent Name' error: Cannot find external name: LOTUSSCRIPT SYMBOL NAME
The crash can occur when Domino 8.0.x or 8.5.x 64-bit versions are running on the AIX and Windows 64-bit platforms.
This issue does not impact the Domino 32-bit version on AIX or Windows.
The most common cause is running a web triggered LotusScript agent under heavy load. Exhausting internal LotusScript resources is what leads to a crash. This may also be caused by intense use of the LotusScript "USE" statement in script libraries.
This issue has been reported to Quality Engineering as SPR# JJDI7YKJD5 and is expected to be fixed in Notes/Domino 8.0.2 FP5, 8.5.1 FP2 and 8.5.2. A hotfix is available for this issue and can be obtained by opening a service request with IBM Support.
