February was tough month

Thank you very much for your very hard work every day and night. Especially, I really appreciate and admire great spirits of PBCD and GAD in order to fulfill the mission to implement SAP during your busiest time nearly in the year end.

In February, there was no good news around the world. The civil riots started in Tunisia and spread in instance to Egypt, Bahrain, and Libya like domino. Swine and bird flu swept and volcano exploded in the south of Japan. In New Zealand, big earthquake killed hundreds of people including Japanese. In Libya, NEC staff narrowly escaped from Tripoli, where they engaged in sales and big AFIS project for immigration.

As bad mood loomed in the world, our business is not in good shape either in Japan or in APAC. NEC Tokyo is suffering from decline of sales and profit in mainly IT service and overseas business. NEC APAC is facing very critical moment to meet the budget target in 2H, partly attributable to us.

On the contrary, the surroundings in Thailand look rather sound and healthy with highly booming economy even though there are still some political confrontations and instabilities. There should be a large hidden market currently invisible or un-accessible to us.

As I stressed in the business plan meeting in last October, typically, blank areas are MEA, PEA for Carrier, Finance and new CTI for BNSD, DC and Non-manufacturing like Finance, Logistics for ITSD respectively. Did you challenge to those new frontier market with cross sales and execute your commitments during this 2H?

March is the last month of the year. Please exercise your last effort during this month to fulfill the commitments and minimize the gap to the target without any regret. Your last effort will surely paid off for the next year’s great step forward. Never give up!
