The Confederation Cup, Show NEC to World from Brazil

 DASHBOARD Global

From June 16th the FIFA Confederations Cup will take place in Brazil as a preliminary event for the FIFA World Cup, which will be held in June next year. Representatives from each of the six FIFA confederation championships, including the host country, will make a total of eight teams, who will play in the actual World Cup stadia. I am very much looking forward to it since, as you may know, Japan is also going to participate.

NEC and NEC Latin America (hereinafter "LATAM", based in Brazil) are in charge of the overall management system of the equipment for the construction of four of the twelve stadia that will be used for the FIFA World Cup 2014. The equipment includes audio, data, IP network used for video, and wireless network for the ICT infrastructure and for the giant screens.

Among these stadia, we have already finished the installations for Arena Pernambuco, in Recife, which was completed in May (picture 1); Arena Fonte Nova, in Salvador, which was completed in April (picture 2); and Arena Gremio, in Porto Alegre, completed in December 2012. The first two stadia will be also used for the FIFA Confederations Cup and the latter will be used as a training center for the FIFA World Cup 2014. Both the local parties and the general contractor were highly satisfied with NEC's contributions and, because of these outstanding results, we were awarded the orders for two new stadia that will be used for the FIFA World Cup 2014.

Along with this, NEC is increasingly becoming a well-trusted name in the ICT industry, as shown by the award LATAM received from Cisco as the "Solution Innovation Partner of the Year." There is a plan to develop Smart Cities in areas that include the surroundings of the newly constructed stadia after the FIFA World Cup 014. NEC also plans to participate in these projects.

On June 19th (June 20th Japan time) japan will play Italy in Arena Pernambuco, in Recife. I personally joined the opening ceremony of the aforesaid arena that took place on May 22nd. When seeing these marvelous facilities, I could certainly feel that we have established a good and strong relationship with our customers. For the people who will watch the matches on TV, I would like to ask to pay attention to the fruit of the work of my colleagues.
